NLB Honey Show 2019
Well that rounds up another successful year for members of the NLB Honey Show 2019.
Those in attendance were treated to drinks and canapés were served throughout the evening this years honey show judge, Sue Lang began the proceedings in awarding trophies for Best honey in show, beeswax, honey frame for extraction alongside cakes and candles.
Apimondia 2019
The 46th Apimondia International Apicultural Congress will be held in Montreal 8-12 September 2019.
APIMONDIA is the International Federation of Beekeepers’ Associations. Its major objective is to facilitate the exchange of information and discussions by organizing Congresses and Symposia where beekeepers, scientists, honey-traders, agents for development, technicians and legislators meet to listen, discuss and learn from one another.
Beekeeping Taster Sessions
Date: Saturday 15th September 2018
Venue: North London Beekeepers' Training Apiary
Session 1 - 10:30am - 12:30pm
Session 2 - 2:30pm - 4:30pm
For anyone thinking about keeping bees, one of these two hour ‘taster’ sessions will provide a short overview of beekeeping, bees and hive management. These sessions are for adults and young people over 18 years.
They will give you the opportunity to find out if beekeeping as a hobby is for you. Each session
will be led by experienced members of North London Beekeepers and include a ‘hands on’ session with bees and hives at our teaching apiary near Kenwood House and Highgate Village.
Protective beekeepers suits will be provided. Please wear long trousers, long sleeved tops, wellies
or trainers.
